The Woven Wi-Fi Antenna that is a series of woven textiles that are antennas for a wireless router. The pattern of the textiles is designed to be visually perceptible by bees based on bee perception research. We call these antennae disjunctive things because they bring together two seemingly unrelated notions like wi-fi and bees. Yet for different reasons, both are invisible to us, wi-fi by design and bees, especially solitary bees not domesticated honeybees, through omission or lack of attention. In urban contexts, the two intersect constantly, invisibly to us beyond our perceptions. Unseen complexities of technicity of urban habitats and pollination ecologies are brought together in tension, to make visible to better negotiate the entanglements and our role within them.
